Keep it simple
1. CLEAN YOUR LENS.
2. LANDSCAPE - position camera in landscape mode. Horizontally.
3. FOCUS - before hitting record, gently place finger over area in which you want to focus, let device register, then record.
4. KEEP YOUR SHOT STEADY. Relax your hands and arms. Easier to achieve with elbows close by your sides.
5. AVOID USING ZOOM - footage will be shaky and unusable.
6. PRE-RECORD - for about 5 SECONDS before the shot and keep on recording for 5 seconds after the shot. For editing purposes.
7. BE YOURSELF - don't let your filming interfere with your day. We're mainly interested in your typical experience.
8. INTERVIEWS - your mates, make sure it's in a quiet area. Otherwise, you'll need a separate microphone.
9, ONLY FILM people who want to be filmed. Some people don't like being on camera.
10. STILL PHOTOS are good, too, but we're more interested in footage, so make sure that your device is switched to film mode.
